Remembering John Pritchard
1957 - 2024
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of John Pritchard, a passionate and devoted supporter of women’s field lacrosse, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
John was a dedicated member of the OWFL executive for many years and a champion of the Orillia Lady Kings program. John was a familiar figure at OWFL weekends. He could often be found at the officials table, keeping score and keeping everyone entertained with his sharp wit.
A little over three years ago, John received a devastating health diagnosis. MSA (multiple system atrophy) would in time make it impossible for John to do simple tasks without assistance, but it never took away his love for lacrosse. Despite reduced mobility he continued
to make it out to cheer on his beloved Lady Kings at home, at Provincials and even to NCAA games.
John had a wicked sense of humour. He was cheeky and mischievous but most of all he was kind, generous and loving. On behalf of the OWFL community we extend our heartfelt condolences to Liz, Kelsi, Jordan, Megan, and the rest of John’s family for the loss of a wonderful man.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Orillia as John always had a heart for helping others and wanted to make a difference for local children and families in need, and will be received by the L.Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes 54 Coldwater St. E Orillia, Ontario L3V1W5 705-326-3595, or on line at: www.kiwanisorillia.ca through
